Main Street Farmer's Market- With over 14 successful years in operation, this market is the only fee-free market in the state. Vendor produce must be grown or produced by the vendor, no third party distribution is allowed. We are proud to be a continuous supporter of our local farmers, growers, makers, bakers, and artisans. The market is open every Saturday from June through October in beautiful Downtown Alexander City. Grow permits and cottage food law permits are required.
Strawberry Market- This market is held every spring as a kick-start for the Farmer's Market season. Hundreds of gallons of strawberries are sold as well as other specialty items.
Holiday Market- Our Thanksgiving market is held every year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. From fresh produce, jellies, jams, & baked goods, to honey and hand crafted items, you're sure to find everything you need in time for the Holidays.
Landscaping Program- Main Street Alexander City plants seasonal flowers in many areas of the Historic Downtown Commercial District. In addition to this, our program continues to improve permanent landscape projects, and works closely with the City to improve our downtown streetscapes.
Christmas Decorations- Main Street Alexander City purchases Christmas decorations for the City. This includes permanent Christmas trees, banners, displays, garland, bows, and wreaths for public buildings in our downtown.
Facade Matching Program- Property owners or individuals renting buildings in the Historic Commercial District of Downtown Alexander City can apply for match grants of up to $5,000 to improve the exterior structure & appearance of their building.
Boost Program - Funding awarded to businesses to expand their businesses downtown whether it be for business equipment, marketing, renovations, or special events.
Fall for Downtown- Main Street Alexander City coordinates and promotes the Fall festival every year which includes the traditional Great Pumpkin Roll, where children race their pumpkins down Alabama Street, an annual sidewalk sale, horse-drawn carriage rides, bouncy houses, face painting, games, food vendors, music & much more!
Main Street Alexander City plays a vital role in the promotion of Downtown businesses through our social media campaigns and events.
